I graduated from Georgetown University Law School in 1997 and for 20 years I have practiced almost exclusively in the area of criminal law throughout the State of Maryland. Most recently, I was Deputy State’s Attorney for Caroline County, where I prosecuted major felonies including felony drug cases, sex abuse and child abuse cases and homicides. I have extensive trial experience in front of both juries and judges.
Prior to prosecuting, I practiced criminal defense for over ten years, handling well over a thousand cases ranging from major felonies to misdemeanors and juvenile matters. My past experience as both a prosecutor and a defense attorney has given me a thorough knowledge of both sides of the courtroom.
In addition to prosecution and defense work, I helped create and run the adult and juvenile drug courts in Caroline County, so I have the knowledge and expertise to help clients suffering from the disease of addiction. If you or a loved one is battling addiction, you need an attorney who is not only a fighter in the courtroom, but a counselor outside the courtroom. My experience with drug courts as well as with representing clients suffering from drug addiction gives me valuable knowledge and perspective to craft the most beneficial outcomes for my clients. Not only do I know the court system, I also know where and how to get help.
